A year ago I spent three months driving across 24 states to determine first hand what web practitioners needed to be successful. There was one thing we heard over and over again, “can you do that in WordPress”?
So, in the interest of giving people what they really wanted, I dusted off my WordPress chops and got to coding to see what could be done. After six months, it’s finally ready: the Intelligence plugin.
But the goal for Intelligence is not just to be another plugin.
I hope that the plugin will empower a different way of thinking about the development and marketing of websites. The mission is to spark a movement, or at least a movement towards, results-oriented, data-driven websites.
Ultimately, the goal of Intelligence is to help people build valuable, measurable, and compelling web experiences. Intelligence helps marketers eliminate the idea of creating content just because someone thinks it’s a good idea and thinks it will work, but to arm marketing teams with the data, so they know it is working.
I’m Geeked
Intelligence is not a new concept or product for us in the Drupal community where it first originated; it’s just new to the WordPress community. IntelligenceWP is here to empower a new and larger audience, and for me, that is exciting!
Intelligence was originally designed to enable large-scale enterprise-size content marketing teams to track, analyze and improve the effectiveness of all the initiatives they were doing.
In the four years since its original launch on Drupal, we have uncovered an unprecedented wealth of insight, witnessed the power of ROI transparency, and watch teams evolve focused on doing what matters most.
And now we get to do it all again, but for WordPress.
They’re Geeked
As we showed the original version of Intelligence to more people, we got more and more requests to create a version of it over in WordPress. Now that we knew where the real interest was, it was only a matter of time to make that transition. A major worry in creating the WordPress version was that there were already 50,000 plugins in the WordPress Market, and could our product still do something unique. Would people get the concept of Intelligence?
After a few months of beta testing, IntelligenceWP is now running on few dozen WordPress sites, and the feedback we have received had been encouraging to say the least. People not only get it, they really get into it.
Even I was a bit surprised by the enthusiasm, however, after learning more about the WordPress community, it was evident that they already understood content marketing. People have spent years dealing with the limitations of traditional analytics and are ready for an easier solution.
Let’s Go
IntelligenceWP now officially out of beta and completely launched to the masses! You can install it right now and start tracking what content on your site is actually being read, engages visitors, and drives conversions. It will score your content, topics, authors, marketing channels, visitors, and more to reveal what is the most effective.
Within a few days of data gathering, you could be well on your way to empirically building more effective websites.
We are just getting started. Please go try out Intelligence and let us know what you think!
