Last Saturday, Tom McCracken, the creator of the IntelligenceWP Plugin was the special guest for the WP-Tonic Podcast. As a Google Analytics expert, Tom provided insight into how frequently people make basic mistakes when endeavoring in implementing Google Analytics.
Tom shared examples on how marketers can go a lot farther with Google Analytics besides using the default settings. By configuring how content is scoring on a website and how well it is doing based on a variety of factors can give marketers better insights on what will generate value for them.
Tom’s tips to understanding one’s website are learning to value the many micro-events on a person’s website, such as form submissions, social interactions, and video consumption/plays.
Other important factors to consider are the page consumed events, scroll on a page, page time visible, true-false bounces, and much more.
