Creating Content Buzz Before An Event

May 8, 2017 by Kristin Yang

Creating content for an event is crucial for generating buzz for an event. Take, for example, an event. LevelTen Interactive is hosted a local meetup event for “Building Next Generation Web Apps with Angular and Form”. However, even if you had a designated Eventbrite event page, in today’s digital age, this is not enough to generate buzz.

Create a Landing Page. Even though, your event has an event listing, creating a landing page that will have the same information. To the landing page, add all the tags and keywords so search engines like Google pick up your article. Need to know more about landing pages and how they bring in visitors, which then generate leads? Read more about it in the blog “How You Can Increase Your Conversion Rates with Landing Pages.”

Create a Blog Post for Your Event. With all the statistics of how content marketing generates leads, use it to your advantage to create buzz for your upcoming event.  Blog about the event with the same information as the landing page and event page and relate it to your business or past content similar to the event. Remember to share the blog through your social media outlets.

Social Media Content. Take the landing page and blog post you created and create links to share through your social media sites. Sometimes the URL’s to your content can be long, so use a service that proves a short-link. Services such Google’s URL Shortener, Bitly, or Buffer all shorten links.

Create images specifically sized (square) for your Instagram and Twitter accounts as a teaser for your event. Again, add a short link to your event information.

Share Constantly. Services like Buffer and Hootsuite allow you to add images, shorten links, and schedule when posts go out. Having reoccurring tweets about the event with different wording will make an impression to someone that sees it.

A week before the actual event, have at least 2 tweets per day as a reminder of the event. The more people see the message, the more successful the event will be. A bonus to all of your efforts, you will have created more content and brought in visitors to your website, which could  potentially become future leads.
