4 Simple & Quick Steps to Creating a Custom Event

August 8, 2017 by Felipa Villegas

For even the most knowledgeable and seasoned Google Analytics consulting, everyone can agree that custom events are difficult to implement. Most often than not, you need to know some javascript. You can see the process yourself in this Google Analytics Guide.

Have you taken a peak? Yeah, that’s exhausting especially for a marketer, like me, that happens to be fairly technical still can not master javascript. Luckily for me, I can still track custom events on interactions on my website fairly easy and in very little time.

How to simply add a custom event tracking using IntelligenceWP Plugin?

Want to track an event and add an event to a specific page?

Intelligence focuses on measuring visitor engagement and business impact by adding value based event tracking to Google Analytics.

You can follow the steps below to add an event to the specific page.

Step 1: Find event in IntelligenceWP

In order to add an event, you need to go to your WordPress Dashboard and select from the Admin Menu on the left: Intelligence>Settings>Events>Add Event.

Step 2: Filling out the information

Once you are under add events, you will find the information to be filled out. You can add the name of the Title, Id and select the Mode and Goal for your event.

Step 3: Adding a selector

After filling out the information, you can move on to event trigger where you can find add selector field where you can type the selector and also include the On event. For example: on click.
